How to Send Money to Thailand

There are various ways of sending money to a friend in Thailand: interbank transfer (also called a "telegraphic transfer" or "SWIFT transfer"), sending an ATM card, and using ATMcash (if you are in the USA) to send a personalized debit card.

These are documented at this website: SendMoneyToThailand.com Sphere: Related Content

first time i've heard of this company, they may need to rethink their marketing strategy.

This is a new company to me too. Ever used 'em?

Yes, I've used them, and yes, it works, and yes, it is not expensive. Initially, you pay US$10 to get the ATM card and to send it to Thailand via FedEx, which is reliable, fast, and requires a signed receipt.

It uses the MasterCard/Cirrus ATM network, but is not a credit card. You have to load money into the account, then your friend can withdraw up to that limit, but not over. In other words, it's a debit card.
